The class is designed to help students understand the business side of running a law office and to assist in opening a law office after graduation. The law students learn how to read financials, such as: profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, capital budgets, etc. They also learn how to create a business plan, start networking, obtain a mentor, and handle client matters. Marquette University Law School and Attorney Shannon Wynn wanted to help students being forced to open their own firms due to the poor job market.
