Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank Donates to Support BOAT CAMP Nature School’s Mission
Bank’s role as North Star Sponsor Marks its Commitment to Outdoor Education.
Newburyport, MA, April 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank recently donated $10,000 to BOAT CAMP Nature School (http://www.boatcamp.org/) as the North Star sponsor. BOAT CAMP Nature School is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing meaningful outdoor education, to inspire lifelong connections to land and sea. The organization envisions that during 2014, they will have a permanent home with land, and continued water access, enabling them to organically expand their programs which serve children and families in the greater Newburyport community. The Bank’s continued sponsorship provides overall support of the programs and including funding for the completion of a beach clean-up project, and for 10 low-income children to attend selected BOAT CAMP programs.
Kate Yeomans, Co-Founder and Executive Director of BOAT CAMP Nature School said that as the lead sponsor, the Bank inspired additional support in the business community, thereby expanding the organization’s capacity even further. She said, “We are grateful to know we can count on the Newburyport Five to help us navigate toward a bright future.”
Timothy Felter, CFO and Treasurer of Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank, said, “BOAT CAMP is the kind of organization that we are proud to support. Its educational mission and goal of fostering relationships with the sea are important, and fit perfectly with our maritime history here in Newburyport and the surrounding area.”
