Man Rides Bicycle in Pink Bra from Chicago, Illinois to Los Angeles, California Along Route 66

Dusty Showers, Founder of The 2nd Basemen, Inc., rides bicycle down Route 66 from Chicago to L.A. in a pink bra for breast cancer.

Chicago, IL, April 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Dusty Showers, President and Founder of The 2nd Basemen, is planning a cross-country bicycle trip in the hopes of raising funds for breast cancer. Dusty will ride a bicycle in a pink bra along Route 66 beginning June 1, 2014. He plans to begin his trip at his former high school in Libertyville, Illinois and end his trip in Los Angeles, California. The trip will take Dusty over 2600 miles on a bicycle.

Dusty Showers is one of the most recognizable names in the world of breast cancer. Dusty has been on Oprah in a bra, he has piloted a flying pink bra in Red Bull’s Flugtag event, sailed a giant pink bra down the river in Red Bull’s Candola, and even jumped out of a plane in a bra. All of these things he has done to not only bring awareness about the importance of early detection but also as a way to make light of a disease that is not funny at all. Survivors and Co-Survivors from across the country support Dusty as he "fights cancer in unusual ways." He has received numerous home-made bras from people around the country. In fact, this isn't Dusty's first bicycle trip in a pink bra. He previously bicycled from Tampa, FL to Los Angeles, CA. Videos, blogs, and information on his previous trip can be found on The 2nd Basemen website and social media profiles.

This year, Dusty is getting the word out beforehand. He has named his bicycle journey "The Road to Hope 2014" and has a great team behind him (See The Road to Hope Event Page at http://the2ndbasemen.org/events/the-road-to-hope-2014/). In order for his journey to be a success and bring funds in to help those facing a breast cancer diagnosis, Dusty needs help. He is planning to stop in 20 major cities and hold 10 fundraisers along Route 66. He is seeking sponsors in the way of monetary funds and major items needed for the trip, such as: a vehicle for his team, GoPro cameras, hotel rooms, a bicycle, and more. Sponsorship packages are available with exposure for those willing help Dusty fight this debilitating disease through The Road to Hope 2014 project.
