Hink Pro Release World's First Flexible Flashgun
London, United Kingdom, April 07, 2014 --(PR.com)-- On March 31st 2014, Hink Pro Limited launched their Kickstarter campaign for the world’s first flexible flashgun. It's called the Spacefish and seems set to make waves across the photographic industry. Hink Pro say that talking to photographers has made them realise that lots of novices are put off using flashguns because they’re “scary, technical things”. "We don’t think that needs to be the case, and that’s part of the reason we’ve made the Spacefish," says Hink.
The Spacefish makes it easier to control light when shooting and allows photographers to be more creative. The flexible neck means that flash movement is no longer limited to a series of angles and clicks and Hink Pro have made it easier to attach modular accessories with in-built systems for colour filters and remote triggers. It has a recycle time of approximately 0.8 seconds, built in LED modelling/AF-Assist light and a guide number of 33m. It is currently a manual flash, but if the Kickstarter target is surpassed they will include eTTL on the first model. (For full specs visit the Kickstarter page or website.)
Flash photography can be beautiful, creative, innovative and exciting. “We want less people to be scared away by the technical side of flash photography and to realise that you can have a lot of fun with it!” says Founder and Development Director Chris Clark. “The company was founded in March 2013 and after almost exactly one year of development we’ve learned a lot, not only about flashguns but also about business, the industry and about what photographers want and need. It’s taken longer than we wanted, and it’s been more difficult than we wanted but we’re finally ready to get going!”
Co-Founder and Creative Director Philippa Oliver says “Spacefish is our first ever product and we need help to get it to market – that’s where Kickstarter comes in. We believe that the future of photography is wide open to projects like this, with more and more innovation entering the market.” Hink Pro "wants to be part of this innovation and we have many ideas to give to that market beyond this first project. Spacefish is not only a product we are passionate about, but also a stepping-stone to bigger and better things. One of the things we are most excited about is the addition of smartphone technology." The company will be developing apps that allow photographers to easily control their lighting from a single device, which will easily attach to the original Spacefish through their accessories system.
