YANMAR mCHP Units Power Green Restaurant
Adairsville, GA, April 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- YANMAR America Corporation is pleased to announce that Mack Boring & Parts Company recently installed two of its CP10WN units with a cluster inverter at a green restaurant in New Jersey, Steve & Cookie’s By the Bay.
Located in Margate City, New Jersey, Steve & Cookie’s was already considered a “green” restaurant thanks to its 10 kilowatts of solar panels. However as a restaurant, Steve & Cookie’s relies on having a constant supply of power and hot water in order to keep its perishables cool and dishwashers running, but with the area’s frequent power outages, the restaurant knew an off-the-grid power solution was necessary. Ultimately, the customer decided to install the micro combined heat and power (mCHP) units offered by YANMAR due to the product’s reliability, return on investment and lower noise level than that of a standby generator. And, while the restaurant had never heard of YANMAR’S mCHP products previously, YANMAR’s relationship with Mack Boring and its reputation for excellent customer service and sustainable, energy efficient products proved to be a key factor in the restaurant’s decision.
YANMAR’s CP10WN units are one of two current U.S. approved energy systems solutions from the 100-year-old diesel engine company. The CP10WN, which runs off of natural gas or propane, provides 10 kilowatts of electrical output along with recovered heat for generating hot water with an efficiency rate of 88 percent. YANMAR’s other U.S. EPA approved mCHP product is the CP5WN, a 5 kilowatt unit with an 84 percent efficiency rate.
Mack Boring & Parts Company has been a partner of YANMAR’s Energy Systems division for several years. The dealer provides YANMAR’S mCHP solutions to residents and small business, and handles the entire project from start to finish including project planning and design, installation and routine maintenance.
