MCS Announces Industry-Specific Employment Summit Panel 4/10 at FAME Renaissance
Los Angeles, CA, April 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- MCS and the Los Angeles Economic and Workforce Development Network announce their inaugural Summit Panel entitled ‘New Millennium-Right Approach-Right People-Right Job’, to be held April 10, 2014 at 9:00 am at FAME Renaissance. The panel will bring together major employers in the healthcare, aerospace manufacturing, entertainment, security, and transportation/logistics fields to engage an audience of job developers, workforce development agencies, government agencies, and educational institutions about their hiring needs and projections. Employers include: Los Angeles World Airports; Kaiser Permanente; Cintas Corporation; LA Gay & Lesbian Center; Unicom Global; Global Human Services; US Bank; California Employment Development Department, among others. Over 100 attendees are expected from Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, and Santa Barbara Counties.
The Summit Panel will focus upon job creation strategies to revitalize workforce development in Los Angeles. As unemployment falls to 8% in California, including an unemployment rate of 8.7% in Los Angeles County, it is crucial to align strategies to ensure that the right jobseekers find the right jobs.
The mission of the LAWEDN is to promote cooperation between workforce development providers and the employer community, ensuring common goals are aligned and efforts are focused upon meeting current employer needs. Central to the LAWEDN’s approach are sector-focused initiatives, with specialized working groups for various high-growth industries in Los Angeles County.
