Joseph V. Colaianni, Has Been Recognized by America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals

Farmingdale, NY, April 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Joseph V. Coliaianni was born in Detroit, Michigan. He earned his B.S.E.E. at the University of Detroit in 1956 and his J.D. with Honors at George Washington University in 1961. Judge Colaiainni is currently a partner with Patton & Boggs LLP in Washington, DC. Judge Colaiainni was appointed to the United States Court of Federal Claims and served from 1970 to 1984. He has applied for, and prosecuted, various patent and trademark applications in the United States Patent Office and internationally. After his association with law firms in Michigan and Ohio, he joined the Department of Justice where he defended the United States government against patent infringement claims. Judge Colaiainni advises his clients in alternative dispute resolution cases involving mediation and arbitration proceedings and has served as mediator and arbitrator in complex alternative dispute resolution proceedings. In addition, he has represented clients at the U.S. International Trade Commission. His affiliations include the District of Columbia Bar Association, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Association, Catholic University of America as Adjunct Professor, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association. His honors include membership in Who’s Who in the East and Who’s Who in American Law. In his leisure time, Judge Colaiainni enjoys swimming and playing chess.
