Season Three of "STEM Journals" TV Series, Starring Geoff Notkin, Starts Sunday, April 13

Tucson, AZ, April 10, 2014 --(PR.com)-- "STEM Journals," an award-winning educational TV series produced by Cox Creative Studios, is gearing up for the exciting launch of its third season this Sunday, April 13, 2014. The program airs each Sunday at 7 p.m. on Cox channels 7/1007 in Arizona and is streamed worldwide at http://www.cox7.com/live.

"STEM Journals" is hosted by world-renowned meteorite hunter, global adventurer and author Geoff Notkin, who previously starred in the hit Science channel television series "Meteorite Men."

In the April 13 season premiere of "STEM Journals," Notkin investigates Action Sports with a look at how entrepreneurs and engineers use STEM skills to design equipment for activities like mountain biking, snow skiing, and auto racing.

In his role as Lead STEM Investigator on the show, Notkin visits venues throughout Arizona to discover the latest innovations and related careers in STEM fields. Upcoming Season 3 episodes will cover topics such as nanotechnology, social insects, and atmospheric sciences.

While filming Season 3 of "STEM Journals," Notkin’s adventures have included coming face to face with tens of thousands of bees, exploring the Mars Yard at the University of Arizona’s Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, going airborne in a Rally Fighter off-road vehicle at Local Motors, taking a special out-of-state ski trip to Colorado, and much more.

An international celebrity who now calls Tucson home, Notkin is enthusiastic about his role as a STEM spokesperson and advocate for students.

"The new season of 'STEM Journals' covers such a broad canvas of topics, it will certainly appeal to all viewers with an interest in science and tech-related

Joining Notkin on each episode of the show is a Youth STEM Investigator who asks questions and helps make topics relatable for school-aged kids.

The Center for Advancement of Informal Science Education (CAISE) reports that educational television series "have been found to produce significant gains in children’s knowledge of science or mathematics content" and "to have significant effects on children’s attitudes toward STEM."
