Seegrid Director of Product Development Interviewed on Manufacturing Revival Radio
Pittsburgh, PA, April 12, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Manufacturing Revival Radio, a weekly podcast about the resurgence of American manufacturing, interviewed special guest Jeff Christensen, Seegrid’s Director of Product Development. Todd Schnick and Todd Youngblood hosts of the radio program interviewed the material handling leader. Seegrid is the maker of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) for the material handling industry.
Christensen explained, “We are talking about the larger application footprint for a customer. It’s all about saving time. It’s about saving labor and it’s about doing more and more with automation. So if we can automatically pick up a load, take it somewhere, and drop it off somewhere, and now we are saving one more step in that larger process. Then if we can go further, we will have a web application that goes with it called the Seegrid Supervisor. This brings a whole new line of integration where a human does not have to interact with the robotic industrial truck; it’s all done through the computer.”
Schnick and Youngblood reported, “We learned about automated guided vehicles, and how they are reducing costs, increasing efficiencies, and generating very positive ROI. Seegrid was named a finalist for the 2014 Edison Award in the Applied Technology category and Industrial Productivity sub-category. What does it take to thrive in manufacturing? Well, keeping it Seegrid simple is one way! This was another fascinating interview highlighting innovation and success in American manufacturing.”
