NAMADUW Releases First Book Project Benefiting the House of Ruth Maryland
The National Association of Mothers and Daughters United Worldwide (NAMADUW) released its first book project titled "Moments in HerStory: From Pain to Purpose," a compilation of stories, poems, first-hand accounts from real women, their traumatic life changing experiences and how they pushed through to overcome their lowest moments.
Washington, DC, April 15, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The National Association of Mothers and Daughters United Worldwide (NAMADUW) released its first book project titled "Moments in HerStory: From Pain to Purpose," a compilation of stories, poems, first-hand accounts from real women, their traumatic life changing experiences and how they pushed through to overcome their lowest moments. The project is many of the contributing authors’ first opportunity to reveal their stories to the world and continue their healing processes.
The book release on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 proved successful as by the following morning, Wednesday, March 26, Moments in HerStory was listed as #1 of Amazon’s Hot New Releases under Christian Living/Women’s Issues.
Proceeds from this book project will benefit the House of Ruth Maryland.
A closed Facebook group, “Moments in HerStory,” including the 46 contributing authors serves to encourage women to share the project with others who may be experiencing life’s roughest moments and need a glimmer of hope that they too can survive heartache, domestic abuse, childhood abuse, and thoughts of suicide and hopelessness.

NAMADUW was founded in 2009 by Lakita Stewart-Thompson, an advocate for fostering healthy mother-daughter relationships and serving women, children and families in need. Overcoming several personal challenges in her life, Stewart-Thompson, saw a growing need to support mother-daughter relationships and to help women, children and families who have too experienced obstacles in their lives.
Stewart-Thompson obtained her undergraduate degree Business Administration from Bowie State University, and she completed her MBA at American Military University (AMU). Stewart-Thompson was nominated for a community award for outstanding service from the Student Alumni Association of AMU. She was acknowledged in 2013 for exceptional service by House of Ruth, Maryland, for her Annual Charity Pampering Event.
