Raleigh Architecture Firm Relocates After Nearly 25 Years

Raleigh, NC, April 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- As the largest local architectural firm specializing in helping businesses design new office space, Phillips Architecture had plenty of experience when time came to move their own office in late March. But the move gave the firm a new perspective on a design process honed over more than a quarter century. And the resultant office shows off the latest approaches in design, technology, sociology and team collaboration.

A desire for space with adjacency to an outdoor plaza led the firm to consider Northchase at Midtown, a collection of existing office buildings encircling the largest fountain plaza in the Triangle. Since the firm handled the redesign of the entire renovation project for new owner Tri Properties of Durham, they knew the space provided a good fit and moved in before the project was even complete.

Visitors to the new office are able to see the latest design strategies that allow both visual openness and acoustical privacy. From a state-of-the-art noise masking system to graphic presentation tools that allow instant integration of mobile devices and smart phones, technology was used to improve communications for groups working together while also creating disruption-free zones for private work.

The most significant improvement was created by the firm's partners in crafting a layout that better enhanced the flow of work and located the firm's specialists within the office in such a way as to improve casual integration into each project's design process benefiting designers and clients. According to Mike Phillips, founding partner at Phillips Architecture, “We wanted our new office to be more comfortable and supportive of the collaborative process that is an important element of our culture.” He adds, “If you are a business that is looking to renovate or relocate your current office, we invite you to contact a partner at Phillips Architecture for a personal tour of our new office, a living laboratory of office design strategies.”
