Klemchuk Kubasta LLP Partner Kirby Drake Inducted as Life Fellow of the Dallas Bar Foundation

Dallas, TX, April 17, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Kirby Drake, partner at Klemchuk Kubasta LLP (KK LLP), a leading intellectual property (IP) law firm, was recently inducted by the Dallas Bar Foundation as a Life Fellow at the 23rd Annual Fellows Lunch on March 26, 2014 at the Belo Mansion.
Fellows of the Dallas Bar Foundation are Dallas attorneys who have distinguished themselves in their professional careers and also have had significant contributions to the legal and civic communities of Dallas. Drake’s induction represents her commitment and dedication to service, education and philanthropy in the legal and public communities.
Drake’s practice includes extensive litigation experience in intellectual property matters, particularly intellectual property litigation and patent preparation/prosecution. She writes and speaks frequently on topics relevant to the legal community, most recently on issues related to the America Invents Act (AIA) and its implementation. She has been honored as a “Rising Star” in intellectual property litigation by Law & Politics Magazine (published in Texas Monthly and Texas Rising Stars Magazines) on numerous occasions, including 2014. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the Wake Forest University School of Law and graduated cum laude from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
Drake’s civic service includes serving in numerous positions with the American Chemical Society, currently as the General Chair for the Southwest Regional Meeting (SWRM 2014) and a member of the National Committee on Patents and Related Matters. She has also been involved with state and local bar association activities including chairing the Dallas Bar Association Summer Law Intern Program (SLIP) and Law Day committees, and serving as a council member for the State Bar of Texas Intellectual Property Section. Drake also serves on the Board of Directors for The Shoulders of Giants, a science-focused non-profit organization, and has held several leadership positions with the Lake Highlands North Homeowners Association.
