New Delhi, India, April 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Nation’s Largest Blood Donation Camp organized by Dera Sacha Sauda on Saturday, 12th April, 2014 was an astounding representation of humanity. The camp attracted more than a lakh volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda, who, adhering to the teachings of Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan came forward to donate blood. This amazing mega blood drive was inaugurated by Revered Guru Ji at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi at 9:05 AM by ‘Joining the Ribbon’. Considering the large number of volunteers who pre-registered themselves to donate blood, the drive was not kept constrained to the nation’s capital, but included more than 200 places in a number of cities from Haryana, Punjab, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. The volunteers from foreign countries also actively participated in the camp. A total of 75,771 units of blood was donated in the camp within just 8 hours, however, thousands of volunteers were left without donating blood as the capacity of participating Blood Bank Societies exhausted.
Encouraging the donors on this Mega Humanitarian Event, Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan said that the Almighty shall surely bless those who came forward for this noble cause and their effort will inspire others also for donating blood. People have various misconceptions about blood donation, and such a drive will set an example for others to come forward. There cannot be a bigger service than saving someone’s life by just donating a unit of blood. He further said that the volunteers of Dera Sacha Sauda enthusiastically come forward to serve humanity at every step, in every way. The method of meditation inspires them to work for the well-being of others.
It’s worth mentioning that, Blood donation is nothing new to Dera Sacha Sauda. The continuous & dedicated efforts of the organization towards blood donation have earned it the name of ‘True Blood Pump’ worldwide. As of this date, Dera Sacha Sauda has donated 1,41,935 litres of blood, which is really inimitable. Under the pious guidance of its True Master, Revered Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, Dera Sacha Sauda has registered itself thrice in the list of “Guinness World Records.” The mere purpose of such drives is not to create any world records, but to help humanity in every possible way. The world is facing an acute shortage of blood-supply and there is a dire need of such mega blood donation camps.
Revered Guru Ji further informed media during the inauguration ceremony of the camp that a blood donation camp is organized in the premises of Dera Sacha Sauda, Sirsa (Haryana) every month for the Indian Army. Besides this, Dera Sacha Sauda is a regular blood supplier to Journalists, Police & Administration, Thalassemia patients and any accidental or needy case.
The story is not limited to India only. Volunteers residing abroad too actively take part in blood donation in their respective countries. The volunteers of New Zealand have become major supporters to the NZ Blood Bank as a result of their devoted service of blood donation to the bank after every 3 months. Every year, more than 35,000 units of blood are donated by Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers across the globe.
This Mega Blood Donation Drive at Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi seemed more like a festive occasion for the Dera Sacha Sauda volunteers. They participated in this drive with extreme enthusiasm. 500 beds were arranged in the stadium premises for this camp. The local residents of Delhi were astonished with the spirit of donors. Earlier, the nation’s capital had seen players gathering in this stadium, but a large gathering of blood donors was really fascinating and first of its kind experience for Delhiites.
