The Masters Review 2014 Shortlist Has Been Announced

The Masters Review has announced thirty writers and five honorable mentions as the top writers currently in graduate-level creative writing programs. Guest Judged by Lev Grossman.

Portland, OR, April 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Masters Review has announced its 2014 shortlist, recognizing 30 writers and 5 honorable mentions as the top writers currently in graduate-level creative writing programs. The list can be seen on The Masters Review's website.

Each year the journal produces a ten-story anthology from this shortlist, which is printed and distributed nationally. It acts as a showcase for writers who will continue to produce great work—a Who's Who of emerging writers. Author Ramona Aususbel had this to say about last year's collection: "If these are the voices we'll be hearing from, American Literature has an awful lot to look forward to." This year, The Masters Review received three times as many submissions, and will be publishing less than 2% of stories received. The journal is enthusiastic about the upcoming publication, which will be available this fall.

A guest judge is chosen to help select stories, this year The Masters Review has paired with book critic and bestselling author, Lev Grossman, who will select ten stories from the shortlist to be published. The announcement of the ten chosen authors takes place in May.
