Veriforce Releases New Five Part Computer Based Training Series Covering Hazardous Materials Transportation
Veriforce, a leader in providing regulatory compliance and contractor management solutions for oil & gas operators, offers new five part computer based training series covering Hazardous Materials Transportation.
Houston, TX, April 25, 2014 --(PR.com)-- "The Hazardous Materials Transportation five part computer based training series provides general awareness to supplement training and prepare students for the testing that precedes the three year (or substantial regulation change) recertification required by the Department of Transportation (DOT)," said President of Veriforce, Louie Werderich.
PHMSA (CFR 49.172.704) requires that workers handling hazardous materials (Hazmat) must complete training. Our main objective is to ensure students leave the course with a clear understanding of what is required of them to perform their role and meet DOT requirements and regulations.
Veriforce’s five part Hazmat training series includes the following courses to help employees meet the above training requirements:
Introduction to Hazardous Materials Transportation: covering general awareness training including identification and classification of hazardous materials, hazmat regulations overview, training requirements, and incident reporting.
Hazardous Materials Carrier Requirements: explains the difference between FMCSR and HMR, state regulations, shipping and certification requirements, loading and unloading procedures, segregation requirements, and general requirements concerning Carriers and transportation of hazardous materials.
Marking and Labeling: covers marking and labeling requirements for packages, overpacks, freight containers, and vehicles in addition to special types of labeling and exceptions to marking and labeling requirements.
Packaging: defines packaging and identifies shippers’ responsibilities regarding packaging, including overpack requirements and handling damaged or leaking packages. It also discusses limited quantities and materials of trade exceptions.
Security Awareness: assists those working around hazmat in identifying potential targets of terrorism, threats to hazmat, and tools to prevent attacks using hazmat.
The Hazardous Materials Transportation Series is available to subscribers in the Veriforce Safety Training Library.
