Westlake Village, CA, April 26, 2014 --(PR.com)-- This weekend Ventura County’s Life Systems Group, Inc. will introduce LifeTank to Westlake at the Conejo Valley Home Remodeling Show in Westlake Village. The event will take place Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm at the Westlake Hyatt, located at 880 S. Westlake Blvd. Tickets are $4 at the door, or free through the website WestlakeHomeShow.com/tickets.
“We’re excited to show homeowners how LifeTank works and why it’s so important to have one at home – so families have an adequate supply of emergency water,” says Cameron Everhart, LifeTank Business Development Manager. “Water is one of the first things to sell out in stores during a disaster. Over the past decade, the United States has become one of the top five countries plagued by natural disasters, and scientists are predicting a catastrophic earthquake in California.”
In fact, Los Angeles Mayor Eric M. Garcetti appointed earthquake expert Dr. Lucy Jones to help create an earthquake preparedness and resilience plan. One of her top concerns is the municipal water lines - some which are a century old and would break during an earthquake:
“… the first thing you put in in a city is the water pipes. That means our water pipes are some of the oldest parts of our infrastructure,” Jones states. “Seventy percent of the water pipes in Southern California are AC pipes and many of them will be breaking when this earthquake happens.”
To protect families against such disasters, designer Mick Benson created LifeTank so homes and businesses can have the assurance of clean, fresh water when needed most. LifeTank features patent-pending technology that allows water to be automatically replenished with daily use of household appliances – meaning the water doesn’t stagnate or need maintenance.
The LifeTank system provides a safeguard against losing water for an undetermined amount of time. Standard systems come in 80- and 120-gallon sizes and multiple tanks can be installed together for increased capacity. Custom designs are available as well. LifeTank is unique, in that it simultaneously addresses three needs:
Access to emergency water
Ability to isolate from contamination
Continuous replenishment of fresh water without maintenance
