Perle Products Not Vulnerable to Heartbleed Bug
Perle has confirmed that all products and firmware do not incorporate the affected versions of OpenSSL.
Nashville, TN, April 26, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Perle Systems, a global manufacturer of secure device networking hardware, has confirmed its products are not affected by the Heartbleed Bug that attacked many web sites using OpenSSL encryption technology.
Heartbleed is a serious software security flaw in OpenSSL, one of the most common security protocols. This vulnerability allows the theft of sensitive information protected under normal conditions. According to www.openSSL.org, the affected versions are 1.0.1 and 1.0.2-beta of OpenSSL.
Perle has confirmed that all products and firmware do not incorporate the affected versions of OpenSSL.
"As a manufacturer of secure device connectivity hardware, Perle takes the implementation of authentication and encryption methods across our product lines very seriously," said John Feeney, Chief Operating Officer at Perle. “Our Information Security Department has conducted all of the necessary investigations and determined that our products are not subject to this weakness.”
