William Peace University Hosts Final Open House of Academic Year
Local Four-Year Baccalaureate Welcomes Potential Students for Last Admissions Event of 2013-2014 Academic Year.
Raleigh, NC, April 28, 2014 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, welcomed more than 120 potential students, families, and friends to the University’s final Admissions Open House of the 2013-2014 academic year on Saturday, April 26. During the event, potential students and their family members toured the campus and gained knowledge of the University’s student life, fields of study, faculty/staff, and facilities, among other things. Participants were also able to hear a special welcome message from Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University.
Over the course of this academic year, WPU celebrated several academic accomplishments, including being named No. 1 in the nation for student internships by U.S. News & World Report, and being ranked among the top 10% nationwide for student-faculty interaction, along with higher-order learning, reflective and integrative learning, learning strategies, discussions with diverse others, and supportive environment (according to the 2013 National Survey of Student Engagement).
WPU also expanded its curriculum this academic year, adding majors in anthropology, environmental studies, global studies, and writing, along with a minor in forensics.
“We are very happy to cap off this successful academic year with all of these potential students and their family members,” said Townsley. “Throughout the year we’ve seen hundreds of smiling faces visiting us at admissions events just like today. We can’t wait for these future Pacers to get on campus and begin the road to a successful future.”
