The SimplyCast 360 Customer Flow Communication platform can be used successfully by the transportation industry, nonprofit organizations, marketing agencies and many more industries.
SimplyCast.com, a global leader in multi-channel marketing Platform-as-a-Service solutions, today announced that a new version of the Ride On Program, the innovative text message service that allows transit users to get accurate bus time information, will be launched with Twitter functionality. The Ride On program will also now be available in San Francisco.
The Ride On program was created by coop student Madeleine Martin from Dalhousie University, and began with text messaging but was expanded to Twitter to allow more flexible options for users. Users can access the Ride On service over their preferred mode of communication. Anyone with a Twitter account can now tweet their city, route number and stop number to @RideOnCast and receive a responding tweet with the arrival time of the next two buses. The Ride On program utilizes the SimplyCast 360 Customer Flow Communication platform and may expand into other communication channels such as voice, Facebook and much more.
Here are the ways you can access the Ride On program:
1. Tweet the city, bus stop and route number to @RideOnCast: sanfrancisco 4748 5L or halifax 8312 10.
2. Text (SMS) the city, bus stop and route number to 21212 @RideOnCast: sanfrancisco 4748 5L or halifax 8312 10.

The Ride On program is powered by the SimplyCast 360 Customer Flow Communication platform. The SimplyCast 360 platform can be used by almost any industry to automate communication processes. The platform is powerful and highly customizable and has a simple drag and drop interface. It is adaptable enough to be used successfully by a nonprofit organization and powerful enough to be employed by an enterprise business or an emergency response team.
SimplyCast is doing the Ride On program in support of local nonprofit organizations. Each month, a new nonprofit organization will be selected to receive exposure. The Ride On messages will feature the organization's name and branding. The Make-A-Wish® Atlantic Provinces foundation is the first nonprofit organization to be selected, and will appear on Ride On messages throughout May.
“We wanted to run the Ride On program as a useful community service yet we also wanted to contribute directly to nonprofit organizations in the community,” said Saeed El-Darahali, President and CEO of SimplyCast. “Once we saw how much usage the program was getting in Halifax, we knew we had to expand it to other cities as well and San Francisco is a great place to start.”
The Ride On program has been featured on Global Television, in the Halifax Metro News and elsewhere. To learn more about the Ride On program and Madeleine Martin, please visit http://www.simplycast.com/the-ride-on-program/.
