Experimental Aircraft Association Selects Merlin for Photography Workflow
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, has selected the Merlin digital asset management system to manage its photography assignments, image workflows and archiving needs for its activities, including the renowned EAA AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in.

EAA is an international recreational aviation organization with more than 180,000 members, dedicated to a mission of growing participation in aviation through sharing The Spirit of Aviation. Its annual convention, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, draws more than 10,000 aircraft and a total attendance of 500,000 to Oshkosh each summer, with visitors from more than 60 countries.
“Each year, EAA staff and volunteers take hundreds of thousands of images that chronicle the history and innovation of flight,” said Tom Moule, EAA’s director of information technology. “One of our biggest challenges is making this tremendous visual asset easy to access for our photo and editorial staffs, as well as the multiple needs within our organization. The Merlin system is the best tool to give us that capability.”
Merlin is a complete digital asset management system that allows corporations to quickly organize and use thousands or millions of photos, videos and other media files with the MerlinX browser and desktop client tools. The Merlin assignment system makes managing photography assignments and photographers more efficient.
