Rhode Island & Massachusetts personal injury law firm, d'Oliveira & Associates, offers $1,000 college scholarship essay contest nationally.
East Providence, RI, May 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- d’Oliveira & Associates, a Rhode Island and Massachusetts based personal injury law firm, today announced their first annual College Scholarship Essay Contest. The Contest is designed to give students, pursuing a career in the legal field, an opportunity to acquire a scholarship that will help offset some of the financial pressures of paying for their education.
The 2014 essay topic is “persuading young people on the dangers of texting and driving.” d’Oliveira will award one student $1000 and these funds are to be used solely for school tuition and related expenses. The application deadline is July 15, 2014 and the recipient will be notified on or about August 15, 2014.
"We chose the topic of texting and driving because while distracted driving has always been a serious issue, however with the increased popularity of mobile devices texting and driving in particular is a cause of a good portion of car crashes across the United States. This is becoming a more serious and popular issue across the country as time goes on," said Paul d’Oliviera, Founding Attorney, d’Oliveira & Associates.
Scholarship Application Requirements:
· 500 word essay persuading young people on the dangers of texting and driving.
· Valid High School transcript, high school diploma or GED equivalent.
· Proof of acceptance or enrollment in future educational institution (college, university, community college, technical or business school) evidencing you are currently working towards a degree in the legal field (law school, paralegal studies, legal assistant studies, court reporting or any other law-related field).
Scholarship applications may be sent electronically or mailed to our corporate office. Failure to include all required application materials will result in immediate rejection of the application.
