Columbus, OH, May 07, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Columbus-based team wins NFL Alumni Super Bowl of Golf XXXIV Tournament
Columbus, OH, April 30, 2014: The NFL Alumni Inc., Ohio Chapter recently captured top honors in the NFL Alumni's Super Bowl of Golf Tournament XXXIV held at the Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas, NV.
The Ohio Chapter team, including Cardinal Health employees Brad Wattenberg, Kyle Alford, Kenneth Brady, Brett Spurgeon and NFL Alumni Team Captain, Art Best brought home the win in an intense three-team shootout.
The Columbus-based team earned their spot in the Ohio Chapter’s Annual Caring for Kids Charity Golf Classic taking first prize in the 2013 Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Franklin County’s CASA FORE! The Child Golf Classic last June.
A total of 21 teams participated in the national event, with the top three teams qualifying for a berth in the shootout. The group beat out the New York and Dallas NFL Alumni Chapters for the top prize, the coveted Super Bowl of Golf Ring and designation as National Champions of the event.
"It was exciting to watch as Kenny sank the 32 foot winning putt,” said Jim Karsatos, President of the Ohio Chapter. “This team played an amazing round of golf coming in at 55.25, making Columbus proud and giving the Ohio Chapter their first national title in the event.”
The NFL Alumni's mission is focused on two areas, advocacy for the players and "Caring for Kids" in their local communities. The local chapters hold golf tournaments to raise funds, with the principal innovation of the NFL Alumni Charity Golf Classic Tour being the Super Bowl of Golf, or SBOG. The Super Bowl of Golf XXXV Tournament will be held at TPC Jacksonville at Punta Verde, April 2015.
The NFL Alumni, Ohio Chapter’s 27th annual Charity Golf Classic will be played July 21 at The Medallion Club in Westerville, OH. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit See Kids Dream. Further information about the tournament and the NFL Alumni, Ohio Chapter can be obtained by contacting tournament marketing director Susan Little at 614-419-6968.
