Madison, CT, May 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Writers from all over the northeast will come together on June 21 for the annual Creating a Writing Life Retreat which will be held at Mercy Center in Madison, Connecticut.
This year, Connecticut novelists Gerri Brousseau and Marian Lanouette will be the featured guest speakers. Brousseau has published three historical fiction novels and is a former sky diver who will share her own free fall into the writing life. Lanouette is the author of three mystery thrillers and will discuss the mystery of publishing. Her books are mysteries with romantic elements, because to quote Marian, "Life is both mysterious and romantic." This event is an opportunity to get up close and personal with published authors and network with other writers in a small group setting.
Creating a Writing Life programs, have been ongoing for seven years, giving writers a place to honor their literary work. The full day retreat provides an encouraging atmosphere, bringing writers of all abilities and genres together to celebrate and improve their craft through both information and inspiration. Mercy Center was recently renovated and features 33 acres of oceanside gardens, gift shop, labyrinth, private beach and inspiration for the asking.
The all-inclusive retreat is being held Saturday, June 21 from 9:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. and the cost is $145. Registration deadline is drawing near. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Stroke Association, an organization dedicated to prevention, diagnosis and treatment to save lives from stroke — America’s No. 4 killer and a leading cause of serious disability.
