Arlington, VA, May 10, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Keller Williams associates may have taken the day off on Thursday, May 8, 2014, but it was hardly a day of rest. Associates with the Keller Williams Realty Arlington have chosen to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, the company's annual day of service, dedicated to renewing, energizing, and donating to their local communities.
As part of the RED Day effort, Keller Williams Realty Arlington chose to spend the day with Culpepper Garden, an affordable, non-profit Senior Living community. The community's once lovely 5 acres of gardens have not been maintained do to a lack of funding. When maintained, they are a source of great pleasure for the residents and we want to help the residents enjoy them again. The seniors living in the "Assisted Living" residence have less mobility and aren't able to get out as much. So Keller Williams associates did arts and crafts with them in the morning and a tea party and ballroom dance demonstration in the afternoon. Associates from 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty® also supported these efforts.
"RED Day is built on the belief that people can and should come together to achieve extraordinary things to help others," said Team Leader Angela Rose. “We can’t tell you what an impact it made on each of us personally. We all know that filling all the gaps in our communities can't be accomplished by serving just once a year. RED Day just happens to be the one-day expression of the constant state of the Keller Williams culture. We see a need, discover who can meet it and get it done.”
Vicki Kirkbride, Executive Director of Culpepper Garden said, "Culpepper Garden was thrilled to be selected as a partner with the Keller Williams Red Day. The residents of the Culpepper Garden Assisted Living complex loved the Arts and Crafts program and there are lovely flower pots in many apartments now. The Tea and Ballroom Demonstration was a big hit. The garden crews did an amazing job and the grounds have never looked better. Everyone worked tirelessly and so much progress was made. Keller Williams organized a wonderful day at Culpepper Garden and we are very grateful to everyone."
Since the first RED Day in 2009, Keller Williams associates have given almost a half million hours of community service through activities ranging from food and blood drives to cleaning up trash in public parks, revamping gardens at nursing homes and rebuilding homes and schools for community members in need. To this day, it is one of the largest events in the real estate industry.
The Keller Williams Realty Arlington Market Center, located at 2101 Wilson Blvd in Arlington, VA is a full-service real estate firm with 195 sales associates.
