Jim Houghton’s Bio: Jim Houghton has spent over 25 years at the crossroads between finance, accounting and technology. He was the successful CFO of Princeton Financial Systems in the 1990s during its high-growth phase and through the time of its acquisition by State Street, where he worked alongside Rich Napoli, who served as PFS’s head of Application Development at the time. More recently, he spent 12 years at Wall Street firms Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse leading product and financial management for large technology organizations as part of their prime brokerage business areas. He started his career as a CPA at accounting firm Arthur Andersen and has also served as COO of private wealth manager Abacus and Associates. Mr. Houghton earned a BA in Accounting from the University of Washington and an MBA and Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University.
As CFO of OFS, Mr. Houghton has positioned OFS for aggressive growth. In less than a year, Mr. Houghton put financial controls in place by establishing a strong financial relationship with Silicon Valley Bank and established strong audit, tax and legal relationships with major super-regional accounting and legal firms. He evaluated, secured, and implemented new systems for accounting, expense management, human resources, payroll and contract management. He has substantially upgraded employee benefits to help attract the type of talent that will meet the expectations of our high profile customers. He also oversees and has upgraded the Human Resources and employee onboarding functions. Mr. Houghton reviews all contracts and customer proposals to protect the interests of OFS. He has joined his peers as a member of the NJTC CFO Network, and in his spare moments he manages to contact his network to acquire valuable leads for OFS. He has developed a clear accounting and operational framework for OFS and freed his management colleagues to focus on their deliverables and maintaining good customer relationships. Overall, Jim Houghton has been an essential force as CFO of OFS and has made huge contributions to transform our talented service organization into a very serious contender in the tech industry.
Outside of work, Mr. Houghton has served as the past President and current Treasurer of The Bridge Academy, a not-for-profit independent school serving language learning disabled children based in Lawrenceville, NJ.
