Wake Education Partnership Receives Donation from City Barbeque
Restaurant Donates $4,521 to Local Nonprofit
Cary, NC, May 14, 2014 --(PR.com)-- In a ceremony today, City Barbeque, presented a $4,521 check to Wake Education Partnership. The funds will benefit Wake Education Partnership’s community programs, which all work toward the common goal of increasing student performance in the Wake County Public School System. The funds were a result of a three-day charity weekend held at the joint after their grand opening, with a percentage of all proceeds designated for the organization.
Wake Education Partnership’s mission is to engage, inform, and mobilize the business community and community-at-large in collaboration with the Wake County Public School System to provide every student with excellent educational opportunities, highly effective teachers, and strong leaders. City Barbeque’s donation will support the Partnership’s goal of providing teachers with innovative classroom instructional grants, administrators and teachers with professional development opportunities and schools exposure to evidence-based best practices in education.
City Barbeque believes that great barbeque isn’t just about food; it’s also about community. The restaurant continuously demonstrates their support of the local community by giving more than ten percent of their pretax profits to local nonprofit organizations. Known for its outstanding guest service, City Barbeque will help Wake Education Partnership and nearly 1000 other local organizations raise funds for community-based projects this year.
