Luxembourg, Luxembourg, May 21, 2014 --(PR.com)-- GT-SAT, a leader in LNB manufacturing, launches the state-of-the-art technology LNB, called dLNB. The dLNB is the first digital LNB available in the world today. Demonstrations will be shown on the occasion of ANGA COM.
The digital System-on-Chip solution, shifting analogue switching technology on a chip, will turn LNB technology upside down and marks the beginning of the digital LNB era.
The outstanding technology incorporates a fully programmable User Band configuration and two working modes, a static and dynamic one. The static one is equivalent to SMATV head-end stations or stacked LNBs, whereas the dynamic is equivalent to SCR LNBs controlled by EN50494 or EN50607.
Taking a closer look on the benefits of digital LNBs, the main part is the support of a high number of User Bands. The penetration of more than one TV per household and multi-tuner devices e. g. Twin PVRs, increases the needs to support significantly more user bands.
The dLNB supports in dynamic mode up to 24 UBs (the number of connected STB’s can be virtually increased), which is a dramatic cost-cutter compared to the current installation mode.
The dLNB has integrated a fully automatic installation without any need of installer’s interaction and the system can be controlled by only 4 commands with any CSS device. The dLNB is supported amongst others by GT-SAT's dHello standard, realizing auto detection of units.
The technical center will be interested in reported ODU dates, e. g. serial numbers, temperature or power consumption, which will enable them to give quick and effective help.
Commenting on the launch, Guil Mediouni, President GT-SAT, says: “The innovative digital LNB technology will create another benchmark in broadcasting. The introduction of this state-of-the-art technology will influence the LNB market significantly and represents a major step for GT-SAT.”
GT-SAT´s R&D team has been working on preparing the systems in the Luxemburgish development department during the last few months. The first insight view was given on the occasion of the SES Astra Industry Days in Luxembourg in April by Wojtek Mazur, Project Leader.
Mazur, who participated already in 2004 in the design of the very first SCR products, comments: “GT-SAT is well positioned in the LNB space and digital LNB will herald an era where I see tremendous potential for growth. The advancements in broadcasting present great opportunities, and with our unique combination of hands-on expertise and vision, I’m confident we will succeed.”
The dLNB will be available from the end of June and orders can be placed immediately.
