Milhalter has experience in private litigation as well as internal and government investigations and is actively engaged with the Washington, D.C., area startup and entrepreneurial community. As the leader of the D.C. office, he will focus on advising small businesses, startups and entrepreneurs. Additionally, he will advise the firm’s clients on government contracting issues.
Milhalter began his legal career in North Carolina at Anderson Jones, working as an associate for three years representing small businesses, construction companies, individual consumers and homeowners. During this time, he gained significant trial, litigation and negotiation experience, regularly arguing motion hearings in state and federal courts. He also has experience in advising clients on business matters, and in drafting and negotiating contracts. After moving to Washington, D.C., he served as a legal fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Oversight and Governmental Reform, where he assisted in drafting legislation, staffed congressional hearings and helped with committee investigations.
