SARTA Spotlights High Tech Hiring in Sacramento Region: Billboard on I-80 Features Tech Companies Ready to Hire
Sacramento, CA, May 14, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Sacramento Regional Technology Alliance (SARTA) today announced a concerted effort to publicize the mounting growth of high tech jobs throughout the region. In partnership with Ernst & Young and DLA Piper, SARTA has taken advertising space on a billboard on I-80 heading east into Sacramento to garner the attention of Silicon Valley technical professionals heading through the region enroute to the Sierras, as well as residents of the region who currently commute to tech jobs in the Bay Area. The initial participants of the “Hire Sac Tech” campaign include Eyefinity, Marrone Bio, Glue Networks, and PTI Solutions. In addition to the billboard, job seekers can visit the corresponding website www.hiresactech.com for links to participating companies with high tech job openings.
The “Hire Sac Tech” initiative addresses the recent job growth occurring at regional tech companies, and their need to recruit top tech talent to the region. This initiative also fulfills a Next Economy top priority to “Grow and Maintain a World-Class Talent Base” while furthering SARTA’s long-standing mission to accelerate technology ventures throughout the Sacramento region.
“Other regions with burgeoning tech sectors like Austin and Portland have implemented similar programs to raise their profile and get on the short-list of qualified, tech professionals seeking career advancement. We have high-paying tech career opportunities in Sacramento that need to be filled,” said Ian Westberg, senior executive at DLA Venture Pipeline and SARTA board member.
“We see this as an opportunity to demonstrate our belief in the Sacramento tech market and stress the importance of committing support to initiatives that will have far-reaching benefits for years to come.”
When asked about her company’s participation, Pam Marrone, CEO of Marrone Bio, shared, “As the organization grows we need to entice skilled tech professionals to consider the Sacramento region. With this program the seeds are being planted that we have jobs in life sciences, agricultural tech, and certainly information tech. We want to retain local, college graduates and incentivize seasoned, mid-career talent to consider Davis and Sacramento for the many career and lifestyle choices that make the region so ideal for entrepreneurs and executives alike.”
“Glue Networks has delivered an innovative solution to one of the hottest segments in networking. We’re proud of our Sacramento roots, market traction, initial seed funding from local angel investors, and need talented engineers and skilled staff to continue to fuel our momentum. We appreciate and fully support SARTA for stepping up to address this important challenge on behalf of our local tech community,” said Jeff Gray, CEO of Glue Networks.
The initial billboard will run through the end of May, and again from the latter part of June through the end of August. Tech companies with job openings interested in participating in the ongoing campaign are encouraged to contact SARTA directly.
