Channel Islands Harbor Selects New Farmers’ Market Operator - Popular Market to Receive Upgrades
New Farmers' Market operator brings improvements to popular weekly Channel Islands Harbor market.
Oxnard, CA, May 16, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Channel Islands Harbor has selected Raw Inspiration, a California Certified Farmers’ Market operator, to manage the long-running certified farmers’ market at the water’s edge. Harbor Director Lyn Krieger said, “It is important to select a high quality operator who understands the market as a community and visitor amenity.”
The popular market is held weekly, rain or shine, on Sundays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. In addition to certified farmers, the market includes prepared foods, arts and crafts, and seafood directly from fishermen. The location on the west side of the harbor, near Harbor Boulevard and Cabezone Circle, provides water views, easy parking and access to harbor restaurants and parks.
Established vendors will remain, and the market will be enhanced by the addition of new producers. According to Melissa Farwell, Raw Inspiration’s Director of Market Coordination and Development, “We are incredibly excited to be working with this market to bring more fresh and organic offerings to the community.” In addition to their farmers’ market operations, Raw Inspiration is committed to nutrition education, and operates a popular program to install edible gardens near schools.
