In Celebration of National Tourette’s Month Haydenfilms Institute Presents a Film Showcase by Local Award Winning Filmmaker Stephen Dijoseph

Berks County, PA, May 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Haydenfilms Institute is proud to announce its fiscal sponsorship program through a film showcase on Wednesday, May 21 from 6 to 8:00 p.m. The showcase will feature Doylestown, Pa. filmmaker and musician, Stephen Dijoseph, and his multi-award winning short film A SynapTic Adventure: Tourettes and Beyond, a first-person short documentary exploring his personal journey with Tourette’s and how living with the syndrome has inspired his creative mind. The event launches Dijoseph’s upcoming U.S. tour highlighting education, inspiration, and information on Tourette’s Syndrome and his connection with the arts. The event will include a panel discussion featuring Dr. Robert Melillo, one of the most respected specialists in childhood neurological disorders in America, alongside Stephen Dijoseph, and Henry Nevison, an Emmy-nominated documentarian.

Dr. Robert Melillo explains, “The feedback from our show with Stephen was the one of the best shows yet. I look forward to the screening of A SynapTic Adventure as the message of the film resonates. One of the things we talk about neurologically, is there are often areas of the brain that get out of rhythm and you have these incredible talents.”

Haydenfilms Institute Executive Director, Hayden Craddolph says "We have been working hard to support global filmmakers for over a decade now. We are very excited to share our experiences gained and our tax exempt status with local filmmakers. We believe that if we can put the resources out there, then we can attract film projects to the area and stimulate the local economy while giving some of our students the opportunity to work on these projects."

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a reception open to the public until 6:30 p.m. The showcase will follow immediately and the panel will begin at 7:30 p.m. It is free and open to the public in Building One of Tek Park located at located at 9999 Hamilton Boulevard in Brenigsville, Pa., about ten minutes north of Kutztown University.

Established in 2010, the Haydenfilms Institute (HFI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to the advancement of independent filmmakers of all ages. HFI has offices in Los Angeles and Lehigh Valley, Pa. The institution provides educational opportunities that include labs, workshops, internships and networking events. Haydenfilms LLC, established in 2001, is an arm of the institute that allows filmmakers to showcase their work through its Online Film Festival.
