Free Fleet Forum Will Look at the Use of Telematics as Part of a Fleet Risk Programme

• Cardinus health and safety forum to feature telematics expert presenters and include example case studies • Thursday June 26, 2014 in central London. 9.30am to 1pm.

London, United Kingdom, May 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- A free forum organised by Cardinus Risk Management will provide valuable advice and information for anybody with responsibility for at-work drivers and managing vehicle fleet risk. In particular the forum will discuss telematics and the way new technological developments have addressed the earlier challenges associated with telematics.

Making telematics part of your fleet risk programme will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 107 Leadenhall St, London EC3A 4AF. It will start with coffee and registration at 9.30am and will finish no later than 1.00pm.

Jon Abbott, director at Cardinus Risk Management, said, “There are real cost savings to be achieved through effective use of relevant telemetry data in terms of fuel usage, collision reduction and maintenance costs, not to mention the opportunity to reduce insurance premiums.

“Telemetry is the way forward in supporting fleet risk management, as this forum will reveal. Presenting all this expertise and information in a half-day forum means an extremely productive morning, with refreshments available throughout. The whole forum will provide valuable practical advice on how to make vehicle telematics work for your fleet and secure road safety and financial benefits. We have some outstanding expert speakers.”

Jeremy Guscott and Colin Hartley, both directors at JGCH Consulting, will present a short history of vehicle telemetry before describing the industry today and listing the key players. They will then look at where the industry is heading, suggesting some of the new opportunities that telematics might offer in the future before finishing off with a live data demonstration.

Jeremy Guscott is a former professional rugby player who played for the British and Irish Lions, England and his home team of Bath throughout his career. Jeremy co-founded JGCH Consulting Limited along with Colin Hartley in February 2013.

Colin Hartley began his career with the Scottish Police Service. Qualifying as a Class 1 police advanced driver and later as a forensic collision reconstruction officer, he investigated in excess of 500 serious and fatal road traffic collisions, giving expert evidence in many criminal trials and civil proofs.

In 2013 Colin and Jeremy Guscott formed JGCH Consulting Limited and now provide independent advice to commercial fleet operators throughout the UK.
John Davidge, head of fleet technical, Cardinus Risk Management, will explain why taking positive and proactive steps to manage your fleet’s driving risk is an essential part of your health and safety at work programme if you are to control costs and reduce insurance claims.

When QubeGB introduced telematics into its 500-vehicle fleet many lessons were learned and discoveries made. John Dalziel, national fleet and logistics manager, will recount the QubeGB story and his experience of introducing telematics.
He will reveal how the initiative revolutionised operational practices and improved work-related road safety. John’s presentation will be followed by a question and answers session and discussion.
