Treasure Cove Belize Mega Green Resort Moves Forward with Development

Treasure Island Management, Ltd., a Belizean corporation, prepares for development with Venture Partners.

Belize City, Belize, May 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Treasure Island Management, Ltd. (TIM) is moving forward with development of Treasure Cove Belize Resort, the first and largest Mega-Green Resort in the Caribbean on the island of Drowned Caye. The proposed development is a 5-star hospitality experience and luxury residential communities, just seven miles from Belize City, and 5 minutes from where the cruise ships dock.

“Treasure Cove Belize will be a unique and unparalleled resort development, playing a leadership role in promoting responsible eco-tourism surrounding the sensitive marine environment of the Belize Barrier Reef,” says Irene Whiteside, Senior Vice President and President of Partnership Development for Treasure Island Management, Ltd.

Nearby Drowned Caye, the new permanent Cruise Ship Port on Stake Bank Caye has already begun construction, developed by Mike Feinstein, and should be complete within the next year or less. Because of this, tourist numbers should increase by more than 1 million annually, to 2.2 million visitors, most of whom will arrive and disembark directly behind Treasure Cove Belize.

Treasure Cove is perfectly situated for development: “Two assets set Treasure Cove apart from any other property in Belize: our central location so close to where the cruise ships dock and our deep water access ability for ease of construction,” Whiteside says.

This is one of the few islands in Belize with deep-water access for building purposes. A 20-foot-deep channel, “The Cut,” runs through the island, facilitating transportation for barges and tugboats right to the island. “Transportation of people, equipment, and building equipment is critical in Belize,” she says. “No one beats our location.”

Recently released is a beautiful 4-page feature article in the globally distributed Private Islands Magazine, regarding the property on Drowned Caye. The article welcomes investors, such as a joint venture partner(s) for any portion of the property, including major hotel and casino developers; selling sections of the property, either by lots or by larger portions; and other interested parties for developing boutique hotels, a beach club, dive center, condominiums, bungalows and restaurant concessions.

Treasure Island Management, Ltd. has recently entered into discussions regarding acquisitions and joint venture partnering with several Global Luxury Resort Developers, Hotel Builders, Vacation Clubs, Gaming Companies, and World’s Billionaires.

The project is supported by government of Belize: “With the overview and supporting documents presented to the Ministry, the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment credits the concept and supports the undertaking to develop Caye land in relation to sound environmental programs,” writes the Honorable Gaspar Vega, deputy prime minister and minister of natural resources and the environment. A Memorandum of Understanding is prepared and will be presented for signing by the Government of Belize soon.

Treasure Cove Belize is multi-beneficial, Whiteside says, in particular, to the country, which will receive many economic benefits, including more than 1,000 jobs and promotion worldwide of ecotourism and environmental responsibility.
