Fort Worth, TX, May 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Texas documentary photographer Jesús Manuel Mena Garza will exhibit 5 black and white documentary photographs as part of the Chicano Dream exhibition June. 27 to Oct. 26, 2014 at the Musée d'Aquitaine in Bordeaux, France. The photographs were selected by the museum from Garza's Chicano Photographer collection.
Midwestern State University Professor Dr. Ann Marie Leimer said, “During the past decades, Garza has extensively published and exhibited several documentary photographic series. For the first time in Europe, the photographs offer museum visitors an opportunity to explore important aspects of the American experience, historic events and cultural practices often marginalized by the dominant culture.”
The cities of Bordeaux and Los Angeles are celebrating the 50 years of cultural exchange that began in October 1964. Many events will punctuate the year, including concerts and dance performances, film screenings and exhibitions. Los Angeles will also be the guest of honor at the festival Bordeaux Wine Festival (BFV) from June 26 to 29.
