Georgetown Ontario Real Estate Company, Johnson Associates Real Estate Ltd., Brokerage, Attends 11th Annual “Grate Groan-Up” Spelling Bee
On Thursday May 1, 2014, Johnson AssociatesReal Estate Ltd., Brokerage, a successful and longstanding Georgetown Ontario Real Estate company, entered 3 teams to Adult Learning Centre/Literacy North Halton’s 11th Annual “Grate Groan-Up” Spelling Bee.
Georgetown, Canada, May 29, 2014 --(PR.com)-- This fundraiser was held at Granite Ridge Golf Course Dublin Line Milton at 5:30pm to help the community while promoting independent team building.
Contestants wishing to participate in the 11th Annual “Grate Groan-Up” Spelling Bee signed up in teams of three to competitively show-off their abilities as wordsmiths. The Grate-Groan Up’s catchphrase, “it’s all fun and games until someone loses an ‘i'” (http://www.grategroanup.com/) When it was evident that only one team could come out on top, the competitive nature of the all contestants came out, but it was the defending champions, Traffix ‘Truck-a-bees’ who took home the championship.
Runners up, Milton Library’s ‘The Dewey Decimators,’ came in second and Mackie Harley Davidson’s ‘Bee-zee Riders’ took best costume. Georgetown Real Estate Company, Johnson Associates Real Estate Ltd., Brokerage representatives did not win but instead enjoyed a fun evening of supportive team building competition, complete with dinner and a show.
A silent auction ended the night and raised awareness and money that will be used to continue providing adults with individualized and group tutoring. Specifically, the Adult Learning Centre in Georgetown is committed to teaching adults to read and write, assisting adults in reaching their long time goals as well as immediate needs, and promoting awareness of what can happen when there is low literacy in the community (http://literacynh.org/).
