Radiant Turns to Juniper to Scale Network and Deploy New VPN Services
Canadian business broadband provider uses Juniper E- and M-series routers, Secure Services Gateway, and Secure Access SSL VPN to develop new TriplePlay™ VPN offering
Vancouver, Canada, October 14, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Radiant Communications, Canada's leading supplier of Broadband Solutions for Business, has deployed a comprehensive Juniper solution to fuel its business by enabling the introduction of new, more flexible network services.
In order to scale to meet existing and future demand for a single, high-performance network to support thousands of customer locations, Radiant deployed Juniper Networks M-series multiservice routers and Juniper Networks E-series IP Edge and Broadband Services Routers at its data centers in Toronto and Vancouver. Radiant has also deployed Juniper Networks Secure Services Gateway (SSG) 550s and Secure Access 6000 SSL VPN solutions in its network core.
“Juniper had all the pieces we required to build an infrastructure to support our customers’ growing needs for performance, security, and capacity,” says Adrian Byram, Executive Vice President and CTO of Radiant Communications. “Juniper’s high-performance network infrastructure has allowed us to create a single network environment that is unique in Canada and has the flexibility and scale to grow with our customers’ businesses.”
The Juniper network infrastructure will underpin Radiant’s "TriplePlay VPN™," a unique new virtual private network (VPN) service that provides customers with a single, managed VPN that supports Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), IPSec, and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) traffic. By supporting multiple VPN protocols, the TriplePlay VPN service provides previously unavailable access flexibility for customers in a simple, cost-effective package.
Explains Byram: “Radiant’s TriplePlay VPN, powered by the Juniper infrastructure, enables Radiant to deliver a seamless VPN solution to a multi-location business: on-net sites across Canada use MPLS, while off-net sites use IPSec, and road warriors connect over an SSL tunnel from any Internet connection. Juniper technology ties together the VPN services so users at all customer locations have secure and reliable access whether in Canada or off net in other parts of the world. Juniper has all the pieces needed and they integrate and operate together cohesively.”
Radiant has also deployed Juniper Networks Secure Services Gateway SSG-5s at customer premises across Canada to give its customers highly scalable secure LAN, intranet, and extranet access as well as best-in-class endpoint security. It is in the process of implementing Juniper Networks Steel-Belted Radius® high-performance AAA/RADIUS servers to enhance the security and manageability of the network.
“By leveraging the breadth of Juniper’s solutions and their tight-knit integration, Radiant can better service its existing customers, and also become significantly more competitive by bringing new, high-demand services to the market,” said Tim Lambie, vice president, Americas International, Juniper Networks.
Juniper Networks M-series multiservice edge routing portfolio uniquely combines best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities with unmatched reliability, stability, security, and service richness. This allows Radiant to consolidate multiple networks onto a single IP/MPLS infrastructure. Juniper Networks E-series Broadband Services Routing platforms are critical elements in the control, delivery, and accounting of services at Radiant’s network edge.
