Boulder, CO, May 31, 2014 --(PR.com)-- This.Press, a publisher of multimedia iBooks of essays, stories, and poetry, is proud to announce its first client, powerhouse poet Marty McConnell. A pioneer of poetry that fuses and refuses the delineations between literary and oral presentation, McConnell combines autobiography and social roles in her deft examinations of living and loving in our time.

“As a writer strongly attached to poetry’s oral legacy as well as its written one, I am thrilled to explore new ways to expand the audience’s experience of these poems,” McConnell says of working in this new digital genre. “Poems exist in such multi-layered contexts, and it’s exciting to consider new ways to guide and widen our understanding of how poems can be presented to the world.“

“Working with Marty is a dream come true. When you survey the landscape of poetry to find people who speak for generations and who have mastered both composition and performance, Marty is a singular talent,” says This.Press founder Thom Ingram. “She has rocked every mode of storytelling that she has visited, and I can think of no one better to kick off this revolution.”

This.Press will be producing a 10-poem chapbook of Marty’s work as a proof-of-concept and inspiration to other artists.
