Xecan Announces the World’s First Smart Cancer Care Wristband Wearable RFID Technology That is Seamlessly Integrated with Aria and Mosaiq R & V Systems
Xecan has developed the world’s first wearable RFID wristband that is capable of verifying patients and treatment devices, tracking locations, and providing wait-time notifications in radiation oncology departments.
Newton, MA, June 05, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Xecan, the leading provider of safer, smarter healthcare services for radiation and medical oncology departments, announces the launch of their Smart Cancer Care Wristband. The smart wristband is a revolutionary wearable technology that improves patient safety and experience in cancer care. It is battery-free, waterproof, and hypo-allergenic. The technology enables automatic, ubiquitous communications with oncology record and verification systems, such as Aria and Mosaiq. The Smart Cancer Care Wristband adds to Xecan’s repertoire of technologies that prevent wrong patient and
wrong accessory errors in cancer treatment.
Xecan’s system also improves the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) score by increasing efficiency and patient satisfaction.
“Much like Google Glass, which is a wearable device that communicates over the internet, Xecan’s Smart Wristband is also based on the principle of ubiquitous computing. They both represent the next generation of technology, which is pervasive and intelligent,” notes Bin Yang, Xecan Co-founder, CEO and Technical Director. “Unlike existing RFID cards or barcode labels, which have to be scanned by patients manually, this stylish wristband doesn't need any human effort.”
Xecan’s system enables clinics to automatically verify the right patient and their treatment accessories as they enter the treatment room. Patients will also be automatically greeted and queued as they enter the department, ensuring the schedule is accurate. Xecan also increases patient satisfaction by communicating wait times via automated text alerts and with screens in the clinic. Staff are also notified if a patient has been in an exam room for too long.
The Xecan Smart Cancer Care Wristband is available for sale worldwide. For more information, please contact sales@xecan.com. The product launch data sheet can be downloaded at http://www.xecan.com/online/docs/XecanWristbandSheet.pdf.
