San Diego, CA, June 06, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Zachary Parker Harris, President and Co-Founder of Junto Global Inc., has been recognized for his achievements by being nomination for San Diego Metro magazine’s 2014 40 Under 40 Award, which annually honors the best and brightest minds in the area. Harris was nominated due to his exceptional community involvement and professional achievements.
"I am very excited and genuinely honored to have been nominated,” Harris remarked. “As a second generation San Diego native, I believe that San Diego can become a leader in innovation, collaboration, and social good. Our purpose is to help make this happen by providing frameworks and experiences that develop talent and empower leaders.”
Parker Harris is an entrepreneur, consultant, and speaker who is passionate about cultivating talent and fostering innovation through collaboration.
Harris is the President and Co-Founder of Junto Global Inc., a social venture for talented, passionate people to connect, grow, and contribute. Junto provides the tools, resources, and experiences to help its members assess where they are and where they want to go, set a plan to get there, and empower them along the way. Since leaving his corporate position to grow Junto full-time, Harris has doubled the membership of the organization and expanded from San Diego into the Los Angeles and Austin markets.
In addition to leading Junto Global, Harris also consults with leaders and start-ups in San Diego and speaks to audiences providing insight into millennial leadership, personal development, and business and collaboration strategies. Through Harris’s involvement with Tech Coast Angels, where he won an award for his excellence in due diligence, he cultivated his passion to help startups and small companies with their business strategy. His experience in raising capital was demonstrated in his work as a consultant for Snake Oil Cocktails, a Beverage Design & Drink Experience Firm in San Diego, for whom Harris was able to raise the $250,000 needed to secure the company a crucial deal with Symphony Towers. Harris recently presented at South by Southwest at the SxSW Innovation + Social Good Summit, discussing the remarkable influence of collaboration to further social good.
Harris sits on the Board of Directors of Our Gen Y and also serves on the finance committee for A Reason To Survive (ARTS). Giving back to his alma mater, Harris serves as a Lavin Mentor through SDSU’s Lavin Entrepreneurship Center. Only five years ago Harris was a Mentee in the program and now continues the program’s legacy by mentoring SDSU students interested in entrepreneurship.
Harris has also recently begun his own non-profit venture, partnering with Mission Edge to launch the Junto Global Foundation, which will provide scholarships and resources to talented and passionate young people who do not have the resources to accomplish their goals that would have a positive impact on their communities and world.
Each year, San Diego Metro Magazine honors some of the best and brightest minds of San Diego County by naming them to their “40 Under 40” list. Now in its fifteenth year, the 40 Under 40 list continues to showcase leaders in the San Diego community.
