Great Father's Day holiday sale. Get up to 30 percent off Las Vegas and South Rim flights. Limited time only. Must be booked in advance.

Las Vegas, NV, June 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The U.S. holiday Father's Day is Sunday, June 15, and Grand Canyon Helicopters is celebrating it by offering a number of specials on some of Canyon's most popular flights from Las Vegas and South Rim.

Deals

Las Vegas travelers can enjoy big discounts on helicopter rides that land at the bottom of the Grand Canyon as well as a number of tours that include VIP tickets to the Skywalk and boat rides down the Colorado River.

"These landing tours are some of the hottest trips in Vegas," said Keith Kravitz, owner of Grand Canyon Helicopters. "This is especially true in regards to the trip that lands at the base for a picnic."

The South Rim tour that's on sale is the 50-minute flight. It departs from Grand Canyon National Park in Tusayan, AZ, and includes flying from the South Rim to the North Rim and all the way to the Park's eastern border.

See It All

"The 50-minute South Rim flight is the way to go," noted Kravitz. "By the time the helicopter lands back at the airport, travelers will have seen up to 75 percent of the National Park. That's a huge achievement."

The Father's Day sale also includes discounts on all deluxe helicopter tours. "These flights are more expensive than the basic tours," said Kravitz, "but each comes with a set of perks that make the deluxe offerings the much better value."

Las Vegas deluxe helicopter tours come with limousine hotel pick up and drop off as well as departures from The Strip (travelers also fly over it on the return leg of the trip). Moreover, both Las Vegas and South Rim flights utilize the EcoStar 130, which is the most superior helicopter currently flying today.

A Superior Helicopter

"The EcoStar boasts a cabin that's up to 25 percent larger than conventional helicopters," said Kravitz. "These aircraft also come with 18-degree windshields, stadium-style seats and incredible climate control, which is important when summer temperatures at West Rim exceed 100 degrees."

Travelers are advised to dress comfortably for summer helicopter rides. Shorts, a brimmed hat, sun block, sunglasses and shorts are recommend. "The Mojave Desert and Northern Arizona get hot from June through September," Kravitz said. “So the key thing is to be prepared and dress for comfort."

There are two departure points for helicopters: Las Vegas and the South Rim. Las Vegas travelers will fly to the West Rim; there are no flights to the South Rim because it's too far. Travelers desiring a Vegas-South Rim air tour can opt for a plane tour. South Rim helicopters only fly over the South Rim. There are no flights that connect the Rims.

Father’s Day weekend is expected to be busy so advanced bookings are recommended. “RSVP at least a week ahead of time to get the best tour at the best price,” said Kravitz. “Not booking in advance can result in higher prices and sell outs so it’s really in a traveler’s best interest to lock down these tours as soon as hotel bookings are made.”
