The Hip Hop Culture’s First Female Emcee/Rapper artist, MC Sha-Rock, is at the heart of a joint announcement by Foster Focus Magazine and Learning Curve Career Center (LCC), to establish the "MC Sha-Rock Luminary Icon Scholarship Award." Recipients receive full tuition and certification fees covering training in LCC’s Administrative Medical Assistant training program. Graduates are prepared to begin a career in healthcare and become nationally certified professionals. Application deadline is August 10, 2014 for this year’s scholarships.
The goal of the collaboration is to identify and provide foster care youth with industry recognized credentials in healthcare and to reduce the number of unemployed “at-risk” young adults.
“Overall many people struggle to find opportunities in this economy, we are proud to offer training in the health care industry, certification preparation, and job readiness assistance to students in a field that is growing,” said Leslie Class, Founder & President of LCC. ”The introduction of the MC Sha-Rock Luminary Icon award, we are able to provide needed workforce training and job readiness services to targeted audiences that may not be able to afford tuition for career development.”
MC Sha-Rock stated, “We are excited about this collaboration. It will provide a unique and special opportunity to offer deserving students who do not have the ability to pay for training. I am extremely proud to offer scholarships for these individuals. In the future we hope to branch out and identify more individuals in need of workforce training.”
LCC partners with volunteers, organizations, and celebrities, including, MC Sha-Rock with an uncompromising commitment to empower our youth by attaining industry recognized credentials and technical skills in the healthcare industry as we support our future talent.
