Cedar Lake Cellars Introduces New Chocolates
St. Louis winery teams up with local chocolatier to offer sweet creations.
Saint Louis, MO, June 08, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Cedar Lake Cellars, a winery and event center, recently partnered with VB Chocolate Bar to introduce new desserts that sweetly blend their wines with handcrafted chocolates. The products will be sold at both Cedar Lake Cellars located at 11008 Schreckengast Rd. in Wright City, as well as VB Chocolate Bar at 5326 Highway N in Cottleville, Mo.
VB Chocolate Bar owner Conor VanBuskirk designed chocolates using Cedar Lake Cellars' wines plus concocted several chocolate barks that will pair with their extensive wine list. VanBuskirk also owns Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate in Florissant, St. Charles and St. Peters.
VanBuskirk's truffles are molded chocolate shells filled with a flavored ganache. He blends chocolate, cream, butter and wine for these unique truffles and then pipes it into the shell by hand before capping the truffle. Each mold is hand painted with colored cocoa butter.
Three newly created truffles include a Norton Wine that is dark chocolate from Tanzania with the wine blended into the ganache; a Port Wine truffle that is dark chocolate Madagascar blend with the wine mixed into the ganache, and; a Firetruck Wine truffle that is milk chocolate from the Ghana region with the sweet red wine blended into the ganache.
The three new chocolate barks include a milk and dark chocolate espresso bark to pair with Cedar Lake Cellar's Merlot; a dark chocolate dried cherry and orange zest bark to serve with their Port and Norton wines, and; a dark and white chocolate bark with dried strawberries and strawberry dust to pair with their Chardonnay.
Cedar Lake Cellars serves 15 wines from Missouri and California under its own private label, Tastings of the Cellars, as well as approximately 25 additional "Wines of the World" from other regions. For more information, call Cedar Lake Cellars at (636) 745-9500.
