Washington, DC, June 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The National Capital Area Council (NCAC), Boy Scouts of America (BSA) will honor Dr. Jorge Ribas, President & CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Inc. with the Vale la Pena! Service Award at the 2014 Champions of Character Dinner on June 18, 2014. This award is to recognize Dr. Ribas’ outstanding service in supporting Scouting opportunities for Hispanic/Latino youth. Dr. Jorge Ribas is a co-founder and first President and CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a multi-state business organization based in Washington, DC. He has been recognized as an effective and visionary team leader who enjoys fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments. Dr. Ribas is a dynamic executive who is known for his no-nonsense, “can-do” approach based upon results-oriented organizational and interpersonal skills, and who has had also a long-standing record of proven success in resolving crisis situations demanding quick action and sound judgment. www.mahcc.org

The dinner is open to the public and sponsorships are available at www.NCACBSA.org/champions. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit Scouting and Learning for Life programs for youth in the District of Columbia, including the campership program that helps Scouts attend summer camp.
