The Gateway Family YMCA Announces District Executive Director

Union, NJ, June 11, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Gateway Family YMCA announces the promotion of Danielle Cioffi to the position of District Executive Director. As District Executive Director, Ms. Cioffi will oversee all day-to-day operations at both the Elizabeth Branch and the Five Points Branch, located in Union, NJ. According to Melynda A. Mileski, EVP/COO, "The Gateway Family YMCA is excited to promote Danielle to this important position. Along with extensive experience, Danielle brings strong leadership and a creative spirit to the Association.” Ms. Cioffi was most recently in the position of Branch Executive Director at the Five Points Branch. Her previous experience also includes School Age Child Care and Summer Camp Director. Ms. Cioffi stated, “Growing up, I was always involved in Y programs and now I feel so blessed for the opportunity to give back and make a positive impact in the community.”

Ms. Cioffi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Fitness Management from Concordia University (Portland, Oregon) and a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Indiana, PA). “Danielle has distinguished herself as a strong leader within our association. She is poised to take The Gateway Family YMCA to the next level," added Krystal R. Canady, CEO of The Gateway Family YMCA. The Gateway Family YMCA completed an $11 million renovation of the Elizabeth Branch last year, with a $3.2 million project currently underway at the Rahway Branch.

“I am very excited for the future of the Elizabeth and Five Points Branches, and also for The Gateway Family YMCA as an association. Our relationship with the community spans over 100 years, and there is so much more to come,” added Danielle Cioffi.
