Airplanista to Host the GA Power Collective at AirVenture 2014 #Oshbash Meetup
At Oshbash 2014, Airplanista is hosting a Panel Discussion that will bring some of the aviation industry's most influential people together in one room. The agenda will be to spark a transparent conversation as one voice to discuss how we get to one million certificated pilots. The ultimate goal of the GA Power Collective will be to encourage an environment that allows the major aviation groups to work together as a "collective" to develop new strategies for reaching the non-flying public.
Eugene, OR, June 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Airplanista Aviation Blog Editor and aviation writer Dan Pimentel has announced his blog’s 2014 Twitter #Avgeeks meetup called #Oshbash to be held at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh on Tuesday, July 29th, 5:30pm - 7:30pm in the EAA Press Tent.
While the primary focus of Airplanista’s #Oshbash meetup events is to create a venue for #Avgeeks that communicate via Twitter to meet face-to-face, Pimentel always presents a themed program to provide entertainment for the standing-room-only audiences. The theme for 2014 will be the GA Power Collective, a high-profile panel discussion with participants from many of the major aviation associations.
“The desire to grow aviation is universal,” said Pimentel. “My GA Power Collective panel discussion will bring some of the aviation industry’s most influential people together in one room to spark a transparent conversation and discuss how we get to one million certificated pilots. The ultimate goal of the event will be to encourage the major aviation groups to work together as a ‘collective’ to develop new strategies for reaching out to the non-flying public and grow aviation. Expect to hear a spirited discussion born from non-standard thinking about how the aviation industry markets to the public. It is my intent to throw away the 'box' the industry has been wedged in for decades and focus not on what is wrong with our GA world, but what we can do as one giant, unstoppable force to make it right.”
Confirmed Panel participants include Frank Ayers Jr., Ed.D., Chancellor, Prescott Campus Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University; Dick Knapinski, Senior Communications Advisor, Experimental Aircraft Association; Dr. Peggy Chabrian, President, Women in Aviation International; Brittney Miculka, Director of Outreach, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association; Dan Johnson, President, Light Aircraft Manufacturers Association; Martha Phillips, President, The Ninety Nines and Kathryn Fraser, Director of Safety & Outreach, General Aviation Manufacturers Association.
Sponsors of the event include Otherpeoplesairplanes.com (live video streaming); Windtee (event t-shirts); Edco Awards and Specialties (participant awards) and Celeste/Daniels Advertising (aviation marketing/creative services).
