One doesn’t have to look far to find a story of a troubled teen or young adult acting out, often in a violent manner. With such incidents come questions of cause. Doorways hopes to not only help families identify the cause of troubling behavior, but also a solution.

One doesn’t have to look far to find a story of a troubled teen or young adult acting out, often in a violent manner. With such incidents come questions of cause. Doorways hopes to not only help families identify the cause of troubling behavior, but also a solution. Teenagers and young adults are faced with challenges their parents did not encounter as young people. As times change, mental health treatment of young adults must change as well. In an ongoing effort to bring hope and healing to families, Doorways continues to expand its base of providers to reach as many teenagers and young adults as possible.
Christine Jimenez, LAMFT specializes in treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder, eating disorders, physical and sexual abuse, and identity disorders. Christina utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), the Pia Mellody Post Induction Therapy (PIT) model, and Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT) in her treatment. She enjoys the opportunity to support people in healing through the hardest times and spaces in their lives.
Shannon Madden, LPC has experience in individual, group, and family counseling utilizing Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR with soldiers, first responders, and adolescents. She has more than 10 years of experience as a Crisis Counselor working in ERs with people experiencing psychiatric emergencies including suicide attempts, psychosis, and alcohol/drug abuse issues. Her experience and expertise is a welcomed addition to the resources and services currently offered by Doorways.
Doorways providers are available for interview to discuss any mental health issues related to teens and young adults ages 13-25. Please contact through Wendy Kenney, Media Relations, 23 Kazoos, 480-242-5219.
