Fashion Designer Alexandra Popescu-York to Present at the Romanian Festival on Broadway, New York City
New York, NY, June 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- New York-based Romanian artist and Fashion Designer Alexandra Popescu-York will be participating at the Romanian Festival on Broadway on June 22, 2014, where she will be presenting unique couture luxury gowns from her 2014 “GranD’Or” Fashion Collection.
The Romania Day Festival – a tradition among Romanians living in the tri-state area, will take place on Broadway, between Liberty Street and Battery Park/ Bowling Green Plaza, and is expected to attract over 25,000 people who can enjoy a day in an original Romanian setting, in the heart of New York City. Artists from both Romania and the United States will participate at this extraordinary event that celebrates the Romanian history, culture, values and traditions.
Community leaders, artists, politicians, diplomats and several high-ranking American officials will join the largest Romanian Diaspora in the world, to celebrate the Romanian Festival. Among the list of invitees are Honorable Loretta Sanchez, Congresswoman (D) CA, Co-Chair Romanian Caucus US Congress; H.E. Bogdan Stanoevici – Minister Delegate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Honorable Ioana Costache, Consul General of Romania in New York, H.E. Simona Miculescu – Romanian Ambassador to the UN, H.E. Popescu-York was born in Romania, and made her first major debut in New York City in February 2014, when she presented a collection of high-fashion couture and paintings during the Couture Fashion Week New York, with Fashion Designer and Producer of Couture Fashion Week, Andres Aquino. The artist states that her artwork is “emotional, vivid and symbolic, combining my design work in the fashion industry with a true passion for painting. I created a style uniquely my own, a bridge between fashion and art.”
