Career Step Scholarship Deadline for Graduating Seniors Extended to August 31

Career Step has extended the deadline for its scholarship for graduating high school seniors until August 31, 2014.

Provo, UT, June 21, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Career Step, an online provider of career-focused education, has extended the deadline for its scholarship for graduating high school seniors, announced in April, until August 31, 2014. The school is offering over $450,000 in scholarships to Utah high school seniors graduating this year through a tuition-free enrollment available to one student at each of the 152 approved Utah high schools.

“We are very excited about our scholarship program and the opportunity it offers to graduating seniors who are just embarking upon their career path,” said Career Step CEO Steve Tober. “Our scholarship program is designed to help graduating seniors realize that education can improve their lives even if college is not the right path. We have made the decision to extend the deadline to allow more time for students to learn about and take advantage of this great opportunity.”

The new August 31 deadline gives students the summer to further consider their post-high school plans. To be eligible, students need only have graduated or be graduating in 2014 and submit a 200 to 500 word essay on why pursing additional education after high school is important to them at CareerStep.com/utah-scholarship by the new August 31 deadline.

The over $450,000 in tuition Career Step hopes to award will be divided among students from the 152 schools on the approved list, which includes public, charter and alternative high schools throughout Utah. One scholarship will be awarded per school, and the winning students will receive a free enrollment in the Career Step training program of their choice.

“Career training programs are a great option for students looking for an alternative to college or a way to pay their way through school,” said Ryan Ewer, Career Step Vice President of Enrollments and Marketing. “Our goal is to help the students in our immediate community get the training they need, sooner rather than later, to start a rewarding career and earning a good living right away. This is why we are extending the scholarship’s deadline—we want students to have the best chance possible at taking advantage of this program.”

Career Step programs are offered entirely online, which allows students to study at the pace and on the schedule that fits their individual needs. Courses are focused in the high growth areas of healthcare, technology and administration, and available programs include training for pharmacy technician, computer technician and medical administrative assistant careers, among others.
