Will Medicinal Psychedelics Send “Neurons to Nirvana”?
New documentary explores the possibilities of psychedelic psychotherapy. On DVD 7/1/14.
Warren, NJ, June 30, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Already having received extensive coverage from VICE, The Vancouver Courier, and Psychedelic Frontier, the documentary “Neurons to Nirvana” will soon be making its long-anticipated appearance on home video. The film will be released on DVD through Passion River Films on 7/1/14.
Filmmakers Oliver Hockenhull and Mikki Willis compiled interviews with over twenty experts for this film on the medicinal and therapeutic potentials of psychedelics. “Neurons to Nirvana” explores everything from medicinal marijuana to guided experiences with the potent Amazonian brew ayahuasca. LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, and MDMA are also shown to be potentially valuable in treating drug addiction, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and end of life anxiety.
Psychologists and scientists interviewed include: Gabor Mate, award-winning author, In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts and expert on addiction and body health; Rick Doblin, PhD, President and Founder of the Mulitdisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies – MAPS; Dr. Dennis McKenna, ethnopharmacologist, Stanford University School of Medicine, expert on DMT and ayahuasca; Michael Mithoefer, primary researcher on treating PTSD with MDMA.
In addition to a wide home video release, “Neurons to Nirvana: Understanding Psychedelic Medicines” will also be available in an educational edition. The film will serve as an ideal teaching tool for university courses on medicine, pharmacology, psychology, philosophy, and more.
