PFM Trading to Offer Bursaries to Underprivileged Students
PFM Trading confirms it is to offer a number of bursaries to underprivileged students as part of its social responsibility program.
Shenzhen, China, June 25, 2014 --(PR.com)-- PFM Trading, Inc., www.PFMTrading.com, has announced that it intends to make a number of bursary awards available to underprivileged students at several Asian business schools as part of its social responsibility program.
The China-based broker-dealer, which recently announced that it intends to open a new satellite office in Hong Kong, says that students performing well in their studies will be offered internships and, potentially, full-time, permanent roles within its organization.
Edward Gold, recently-appointed vice-president at PFM Trading, said he considered the corporate social responsibility program to be one of the most important investments the company could make.
“Obviously financial services is a career path that has made a lot of people very wealthy indeed so it’s only right and fitting that we should give something back to those who, perhaps, are not as fortunate as we are,” said Mr. Gold.
According to the terms of the company’s corporate responsibility prospectus, bursaries of up to $5,000 per annum will be offered to students from underprivileged or otherwise disadvantaged backgrounds that have attained qualifying grades.
Warren Odey, Chief Executive Officer at PFM Trading said he expected strong competition for the awards this year.
“We have increased the number of internships that we will award to successful candidates this year while, at the same time, also increasing the size of the bursaries. While the permanent roles within our organization are understandably highly-sought after among candidates, we sincerely believe that the commitment they make to their studies now will enable them to succeed within whichever field they decide to deploy their skills,” said Mr. Odey.
